Faith-aware, culturally responsive therapy — telehealth across Texas.
The evaluation
An immigration psychological evaluation is a clinical assessment that documents the emotional and psychological impact of a person’s experiences — abuse, persecution, trauma, or the hardship of family separation — in support of their immigration case. At Niyyah Counseling, these evaluations are conducted with cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and deep respect for the courage it takes to share your story. Behind every case is a whole person, and I meet you with warmth, patience, and dignity throughout the process.
Types offered
I provide psychosocial evaluations for a range of immigration matters, including VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) petitions, asylum claims, U-visa and T-visa applications for survivors of crime and trafficking, and extreme-hardship waivers. Each evaluation is thorough, objective, and tailored to your case — grounded in clinical best practices and prepared to support your attorney’s work. As a fluent Arabic speaker, I can work directly with many clients in their own language, and I welcome interpreters for others.
What to expect
The process usually begins with a referral from your immigration attorney, followed by one or more clinical interviews and a written report prepared to professional and legal standards. To protect the objectivity of your evaluation, I serve as an impartial evaluator and don’t provide ongoing therapy to clients I assess. Attorneys and prospective clients are welcome to reach out to discuss timelines, scope, and fees.
