Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Do you ever feel like one part of you wants to move forward while another keeps pulling you back? Do you catch yourself being your own harshest critic — while somewhere underneath, a younger, tender part of you just wants to feel safe? Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a gentle, evidence-based way of understanding the different “parts” we all carry — the protector that keeps you busy, the critic that thinks it’s keeping you safe, the part that holds old pain — and helping them work together instead of at war.

In IFS, none of your parts are bad. Each one took on its role for a reason, often to protect you through a hard season. Together, we get curious about these parts with compassion rather than judgment, so the wounded places can finally be heard and healed — and you can lead your life from a calmer, steadier center.

For many clients this parts-work sits naturally alongside faith: the sense that beneath every protector and every wound is a core self worth returning to. Linda Hamza, LCSW-S, is IFS-Level 1 trained and integrates IFS with culturally responsive, faith-aware care. If you’re tired of fighting yourself and ready to meet every part of you with mercy, this work may be a good fit.
